These jumbo pasta shells are generously filled with a creamy mixture of ground turkey, fresh spinach, and ricotta cheese, then topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella. This hearty recipe is not only delightful to eat but also easy to prepare, making it an ideal choice for busy weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (chopped)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Boil water in a large pot and cook the jumbo pasta shells until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent. Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, ricotta cheese, sautéed vegetables, half of the shredded mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Fill each shell with the turkey filling and place them seam-side up in a baking dish coated with marinara sauce.
  5. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the cheese slightly. Serve warm.
