  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (about 2 tbsp)
  • 1 cup salsa (mild or spicy)
  • 2 cups tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream (for topping)
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • Cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning until fragrant.
  3. Add salsa to the beef mixture and simmer for about five minutes.
  4. In a baking dish, layer half of the tortilla chips, followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the cheese. Repeat the layers.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
  6. Serve hot with sour cream and green onions.
