  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk or heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together softened butter and sugars until fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract and food coloring until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder; gradually incorporate into wet ingredients without overmixing.
  5. Scoop dough onto prepared sheets with space in between; bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  7. For icing, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth; add milk to desired consistency.
  8. Frost cooled cookies generously and serve.
