- 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme), chopped
- 1 tsp coarse sea salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Gradually mix in all-purpose flour and salt until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Gently punch down the risen dough, shape it into an oval or rectangle, and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Create dimples on the surface of the dough with your fingers. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with herbs and coarse sea salt.
