  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • Zest of 1 orange and 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your bundt pan well.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugars, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in buttermilk and vanilla until just combined.
  4. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just mixed; be careful not to overmix. Fold in the citrus zest gently.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with milk until smooth; adjust thickness as desired.
  7. Once cooled completely, invert the cake onto a serving plate and drizzle with glaze.
