  • 1 lb ground beef (lean)
  • 12 oz fresh or frozen tortellini
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  5. Cook tortellini according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  6. In a baking dish, combine the beef mixture with cooked tortellini. Layer half of the cheese blend on top before adding the remaining mixture.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle remaining cheese on top, then bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
