  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (chopped)
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant, then add chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Stir in crumbled feta and remove from heat.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into a tree shape with a triangular top and extending branches.
  4. Place the spinach-feta mixture on one half of the tree shape, fold over the other half, and crimp edges to seal.
  5. Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly before slicing into branches. Serve warm.
