Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup pine nuts
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Toast the pine nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden brown, stirring constantly.
  2. In a food processor, combine basil leaves, toasted pine nuts, garlic cloves, and Parmesan cheese. Pulse until finely chopped.
  3. With the processor running, gradually add olive oil until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides if necessary.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste; blend briefly to combine.
