  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter (for sautéing)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 cup flour

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté onions until translucent.
  3. With damp hands, form the meat mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  4. Sear meatballs in the skillet until browned on all sides; remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, whisk flour into drippings until smooth. Gradually add beef broth while stirring until thickened.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and Dijon mustard. Return meatballs to skillet; simmer for about 10 minutes.
