Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Activate your yeast by mixing warm milk with yeast and a teaspoon of sugar in a small bowl. Let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, and an egg. Mix until just combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl covered with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  4. While the dough rises, mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  5. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread softened butter over it generously and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture and chopped pecans.
  6. Roll tightly from one end to another to form a log, then slice into approximately 12 pieces.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle warm caramel sauce over rolls as soon as they come out of the oven.
