Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Activate your yeast by mixing warm milk with yeast and a teaspoon of sugar in a small bowl. Let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, and an egg. Mix until just combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl covered with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- While the dough rises, mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Roll out risen dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread softened butter over it generously and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture and chopped pecans.
- Roll tightly from one end to another to form a log, then slice into approximately 12 pieces.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle warm caramel sauce over rolls as soon as they come out of the oven.
