  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs (divided)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the red velvet cake mix, melted butter, 2 eggs, and milk until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Add remaining egg and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. Pour half of the red velvet batter into the pan. Spoon dollops of cream cheese mixture over it and swirl gently with a knife.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until edges are set but center is slightly jiggly.
  6. Cool in the pan before refrigerating for at least two hours. Slice and serve.
